Dishwasher problem
Dishwasher Leaking? Find the Source First.
Water from a dishwasher can come from the door, the bottom, or the back. Each source points to a different part. We find the leak first — never replace anything until we're sure where the water is coming from.
Common causes
What's actually wrong
Door gasket failure
Most common front leak. Gasket compresses over time and stops sealing.
Door latch alignment
If the latch isn't pulling the door tight enough, water escapes during wash.
Pump seal
Leak from underneath during operation. Pump seal worn.
Water inlet valve
Leak at the back when filling. Inlet valve seal failed.
Tension cord broken (Bosch)
On Bosch built-ins, broken tension cords cause door misalignment and leaks.
Before you call
Quick checks you can do
- Run a cycle and observe where water first appears.
- Inspect the door gasket — gaps, tears, or trapped food.
- Check the door latch alignment — does the door close firmly?
When to call us
Door gaskets, latches, and tension cords are common Bosch and KitchenAid replacements. We have the parts on the truck.
